OPLIN is legally required to make funds available to public libraries
"...to help local libraries purchase or maintain filters to screen out
obscene and illegal internet materials." (HB119, 2007) The amount of
this earmark currently stands at $85,725; any portion of this earmark
not granted to libraries gets returned to the state treasury. (The
earmark can't be used for any other OPLIN budget needs.)

Details of the grant program for this year are posted at
http://oplin.org/content/internet-filtering-assistance-program.
Applications are currently being accepted at
http://oplin.org/grantapplication/. All applications must be submitted
online through this site by November 30; no other applications will be
considered for funding.

If you have questions about the program that are not answered by the
information page, please contact me or the OPLIN Support Center
(http://support.oplin.org).
