LearningExpress Library Version 2.0 

Coming in February 2009

The launch of LearningExpress Library Version 2.0 is coming in early February. Please read below to learn more about the exciting new features of Version 2.0.  In addition, we encourage you to take a Sneak Peak at the new user interface to see for yourself how easy it will be to use. During the last week of January, you will receive access to an in-depth, self-paced online tutorial that has been designed for internal training among library and school staff. In addition, users of LearnngExpress Library Version 2.0 will have access to the tutorial as a Getting Started guide.

What's new in LearningExpress Library(tm) Version 2.0? 

Easy-to-use interface:

The key difference between the current version of LearningExpress Library and Version 2.0 is the home page layout and organization. In Version 2.0, courses and tests are organized into intuitive Learning Centers, which group courses, tests, and other related content together in one place. In addition, users will be able to search for content at any time as well as view a list of all available resources on a single page. In Version 2.0, the "My Account" page will be replaced with the "My Center" page. Users will still have access to the same courses, tests, and reports as before. In fact, all current and completed tests stored in the former "My Account" section will now appear in the "My Center" page. 

Improved online help and documentation:

In addition to making the new user interface easier to use and fully searchable, Version 2.0 also features enhanced online help. From  "Getting Started" tutorials to topic-based help, Version 2.0 guides users through every step.

Direct Access to Centers: 

Version 2.0 will allow direct access to each Learning Center. For example, if you are promoting materials on the GED from your website, you can link directly to the GED Learning Center in Learning Express Library. Users will still be able to access all resources in LearningExpress once they enter the specific Learning Center. Before the release, you will receive documentation and Center icons to use on your website if you want to take advantage of the direct center access.

Librarian Resource Center:

In Version 2.0, Librarians will have their own Centers where promotional materials such as posters, press release templates, marketing guides, user guides, and even MARC records will be available for download.

How will this release impact you and your library system? 

Since LearningExpress Library(tm) is a Web-based application, no changes will be necessary to your current configuration and/or access methods to LearningExpress at the system or branch level.

During the last week in January, you will receive a link and directions via e-mail to access the online tutorial. The tutorial will guide you and your staff through the new interface, highlight what is new, and provide FAQs on old versus new. You can circulate the link to view the demo as well as post it on any training sites you may have. We have integrated help documentation and interactive flash demos to make training a breeze.
