Join acclaimed young adult author Siobhan Vivian (pronounced Sha-vaughn)
on Wednesday, June 24th at 1:30 PM as she discusses her books and shows
you how to express yourself through the art of creative writing. The
author of the young adult novels Same Difference and A Little Friendly
Advice, Vivian received her MFA in Writing for Children from The New
School University. She has also written for The Disney Channel, has edited
several New York Times best-selling novels, and teaches creative writing
at The University of Pittsburgh.

Her latest novel, Same Difference, is the tale of sixteen-year old Emily
and her exploration of what it means to be a teenager—including the joy,
thrill, and heartache we all experience when we’re figuring out who we
really are. In A Little Friendly Advice, Ruby is forced to deal with
what happens when her divorced father shows up unexpectedly on her
sixteenth birthday. The week that follows is full of confusing surprises,
including discovering that her best friend has been keeping secrets from
her and that her mother has not been truthful about the past.

Refreshments and a book signing will be served following the program. For
more information or to register for the program, please call the Reference
Desk at 330-364-4474.
