[OPLINLIST] Job help websites

Worthington Libraries has created an online Job Help Guide as well. It's
located here: http://www.worthingtonlibraries.org/research/guides/jobs

That said, two sites that I get a lot of mileage out of are
www.simplyhired.com and www.indeed.com. Both are job search engines that
function and feel like Google. That seems to be a search environment
that people are comfortable with. They also have some supplemental
material built in as well.

Additionally, I think all public service librarians should have at least
a cursory understanding of Ohio's unemployment processing procedures.
Info on that can be found here,
http://jfs.ohio.gov/ouc/ClaimInformationPage.stm, here,
http://unemployment.ohio.gov/, and here,
http://www.olc.org/pdf/InternetFilingUnemploymentComp.pdf

Hi, all -

OPLIN has been reviewing "job help" websites, like the State Library's
"Find Help in Tough Times" (http://library.ohio.gov/toughtimes) and the
documents and discussion sections of WebJunction Ohio's "Helping Job
Seekers in Ohio" (http://oh.webjunction.org/ohlibservjobs). While there
is
a little information on WJOhio about what libraries are doing to help
job
seekers, there's not a lot of information about what websites are being
used.

So how about sharing some information here on OPLINLIST? What are your
favorite job help websites, and why?

Stephen
