[OPLINLIST] Memorial Project

We have recently received memorial donations to be spent on educational
(mainly elementary school science) resources that would have a longer
"shelf life" than a book collection.  
 
Our initial brain-storming has led us in the direction of resources
usually found in children's museums or science museums such as COSI.
 
Suggestions so far have been the followiing:  
    1)    Hands-on interactive exhibits such as the Van De Graaff
generator.
    2)    Kiosks with scientific information sets that are changed
periodically.
    3)    "Trunks" of demonstration equipment and related information
that could be loaned to classroom teachers.
 
If you have implemented a similar type project, I would appreciate
hearing from you.
