[OPLINLIST] Circulating DVDs

I would like to know information on how other libraries handle theft of A/V
materials.  We currently are circulating DVDs in their cases, but lately, we
have had a rash of discs missing from the containers.  We would hate to go
back to using security cases as they can still get them out of the building
if they want to.

We are considering keeping the actual discs behind the desk and giving them
out when patrons bring the case to the desk.  Can anyone share what works
for them?  Thanks,
