Way Library Board appoints Janel Haas as new director

 

At its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, July 22, the Way Public
Library Board of Trustees voted unanimously to appoint Janel Haas new
director of Way Library, effective September 1, 2010. 

 

Mrs. Haas has been employed at Way Library since July 1989. After serving as
head of technical services from 1997 to 2004, she was named assistant
director in 2004. Nancy J. Kelley, Way director since 1991, will retire at
the end of August.  

 

With a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Lourdes College and a
master of library and information science degree from Kent State University,
Mrs. Haas has assisted Mrs. Kelley in overseeing the daily operations of the
library, supervised and administered various programs at the library, and
represented northwest Ohio on the Ohio Library Council's Action Council. 

 

In addition, Mrs. Haas is currently president of the executive board of
Prevention Partners and a board member of Behavioral Connections of Wood
County. She is a member of P.E.O., a philanthropic education organization,
and served on the People Planning Perrysburg Committee (P3) which developed
the Comprehensive Plan for the City of Perrysburg.
