To: Ohio Library Community:

Ohioana is proud to announce the ten featured authors around which we
will be creating our 2010 Ohioana Book Festival program and community
outreach programs. We have a great line-up of featured authors who will
surely make this festival our most successful yet! (See attached)

The featured author line-up includes a Grammy Award nominee, two
Pulitzer Prize nominees, a MacArthur Foundation genius grant recipient,
two National Book Award finalists, a nine-time Cox award for editorial
cartooning and illustration winner, and a three-time Ohio Associated
Press Writer of the Year in prep sports. Of course, each author has
many other awards that could be listed, but this will give you an idea
of the wonderful writers that will be given top billing this year. In
addition to the ten featured authors we will have approximately eighty
festival fair authors who will also be involved at the festival. They
will be signing books, meeting fans, and in some cases taking part in
panel discussions and readings.

This week, the Ohioana Book Festival web site,
www.OhioanaBookFestival.org <http://www.ohioanabookfestival.org/> , was
updated, and now the names, photos, and bios of this year's featured
authors, as well as some of the book fair authors are available to the
public. I encourage you to help spread the word about the festival to
your friends through email, web sites, twitter, and Facebook.

We are also planning a Writer's Conference on Friday, May 7th, the day
before the Book Festival. Watch your email and the (www.Ohioana.org
<http://www.ohioana.org/> and www.OhioanaBookFestival.org
<http://www.ohioanabookfestival.org/> ) web sites for more information.

The purpose of the Ohioana Book Festival and Writers' Conference is to
increase awareness of the importance of Ohio writers and their
contributions to the literary arts and to encourage and celebrate
reading, writing, and literacy.
