[OPLINLIST] Unintended checkouts

We have TLC LS4.2 circulation, and are wondering if anyone else has had this
particular problem.

Under the CHECKOUT screen, an item ID# is in the SEARCH FOR TITLE BY DEFAULT
box.  ( It can be in there from the last checkout, or if you have the cursor
in there and hit a scroll button, a number from one of the last items you
checked out will pop up in there. )

For whatever reason, but not every time, when you:
1.	click in the SEARCH FOR BORROWER BY DEFAULT BOX, and 
2.	enter a name or card number, click on SEARCH, 
3.	the item number in the SEARCH FOR TITLE BY DEFAULT box is then
checked out to the patron you have searched for.  
4.	If it was checked in, it just checks out. 
5.	If it was out to another patron, the box pops up asking you if you
really want to do this.  

Even if you hit escape when you complete a transaction, the item ID will
remain to be checked out to the next patron.  

We can see how patrons have items on their cards that they didn't leave the
library with.  
Can anyone shed any light on this?
