*A Spring Literary Arts Festival packed with music, literature and culture*

/A Spring Literary Arts Festival---On the Home Front: Rivets, Rations, & 
Romance/in McArthur, Ohio will feature a diverse schedule on Saturday, 
April 16. The day will include everything from writing contest awards to 
an 18-piece orchestra and everything in between.

The day will begin with a reception and the presentation of the Linda 
Ogle Russ Memorial Writing Contest Awards at 1:30 p.m. in the library's 
meeting room, followed by a keynote presentation and book signing at 
2:00 p.m. by Sarah Blake, /New York Times /bestselling author of /The 
Postmistress/, a novel that "(weaves) together the stories of three very 
different women loosely tied to each other...(taking) readers back and 
forth between small town America and war-torn Europe in 1940."

Later that afternoon, in the cafetorium of the Vinton County High 
School, festivalgoers will embark on /A Sentimental Journey in the 
Stardust Room, /beginning with a 1940s dinner at 5:00 p.m., prepared by 
Chef Mary Reynolds of /Flutes & Peppercorns. /Dinner tickets, which 
include all Saturday night events, are $25 per person and must be 
purchased in advance at the library no later than Friday, April 8.The 
menu will include a salad, baked chicken breast, a potato dish, green 
beans, homemade light roll, apple crisp with vanilla ice cream, iced 
tea, and coffee.

At 6:00 p.m., Allan M. Winkler, Ph.D., Professor of History at Miami 
University in Oxford, Ohio, and author of /Home Front U.S.A.: America 
during World War II (The American History Series)/, will offer a keynote 
presentation and book signing. Immediately following Dr. Winkler's 
presentation, Z-Sharp Big Band of Central Ohio, an 18-piece jazz 
orchestra specializing in classic swing music from the original Glenn 
Miller/Tommy Dorsey Big Band era, will provide music for the audience's 
listening and dancing pleasure.Admission for only the presentation and 
big band is $5.00 per person. General admission tickets will be on sale 
at the library and at the door./

and Romance is sponsored by the Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library and the 
Friends of the Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library in McArthur, Ohio. 
Events will begin on Monday, April 4, 2011 and the last event will be
