Program Description:
Our Featured author is Sharon Creech, winner of the Newbery medal for
Walk Two Moons, the Newbery Honor book The Wonderer and other favorites
such as Love That Dog. 

You have the following choices for the first breakout session: 

*	Children's Literature Update:
	Sue McCleaf Nespeca, NEO-RLS, will give an update on the latest
and greatest K-6 literature that is available to school librarians. 
*	INFOhio: Your Partner in Working with Students, Teachers and
Parents :INFOhio
	This session will explore INFOhio's core collection of
electronic resources and review back-to-school materials and tools
available to you, students, teachers, and parents. You will have an
opportunity for hands-on examination of these resources during this
presentation. 
*	Connecting Parents, Youth and Libraries: Jennifer Schwelik,
Prek-12 Technology and Professional Development Manager, WVIZ/PBS & 90.3
WCPN 
	Introduction to PBS content and programming that prepares
children and young adults for academic success by connecting children,
young adults and families to schools and libraries using PBS developed
content. Learn about the Raising Readers program and materials, about
MySource, MyMedia and free core content learning materials. Appropriate
for school librarians and public librarians (children and young adult). 

The second breakout session choices: 

*	Young Adult Literature Update:--Christina Getrost, Stow-Munroe
Falls Public Library will give an update on the latest and greatest
Young Adult (grades 7-12) literature that is available to school
librarians. 
*	Looking Forward - 75th Caldecott Anniversary - Dr. Carolyn
Brodie 
	The 75th Caldecott award book will be announced in January 2012.
Hear a review of the the past 74 award winners and learn ideas about
celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Caldecott Medal. 
*	Reference Resources for Children & Teens - Dr. Meghan Harper 

Two Closing Sessions : 

First Closing Session
Emerging Technologies, Shawn Walsh, NEO-RLS
Looking for info on the latest techno-trends for teachers, schools,
students, and patrons but you don't want to be overwhelmed by too many
techie details? Come join Shawn Walsh, for a discussion and a friendly
show and tell program where you can learn about what's in and what's out
in the world of technology. 

Final Closing Speaker:
Vanita Books: Vanita Oelschlager, Author and Poet.

of Library and Information Science.
