Going Mobile! examines how a mobile app can work for your library,
mobile-enabled websites versus mobile apps, and what is required to
successfully launch a mobile app.
 
 
Jim Haprian, Information Technology Director at Cuyahoga County Public
Library (CCPL), and Janet Loew, Communications and Public Relations Director
at the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, will share their
stories of launching mobile apps. Haprian will discuss the app features he
developed and implemented with Boopsie to create CCPL's mobile app CCPL
Mobile. CCPL was the first library in the country to debut a mobile app that
allows library customers to scan an item's barcode with a mobile device and
check it out from anywhere in the library. Loew will discuss strategies for
launching and promoting library mobile apps. A question and answer period
will be included.

*      Know what is required to put together a mobile app
