South Dakota First Lady Linda Daugaard began a week-long tour of libraries
Monday as part of South Dakota Library Week.

She started her day in Dell Rapids and then continued on to Oak View Library
in Sioux Falls.

As a former school librarian, Linda Daugaard says she recognizes the
critical role South Dakota's libraries play.

In 2009, South Dakota residents checked out nearly 6 million books, CDs,
videos and other items from public libraries.
