New executive director, NORTHEAST OHIO Regional Library System


 

Warren, Ohio-May 4, 2011, 3:00 p.m. - The NEO-RLS Board of Trustees
would like to introduce their new Executive Director, Catherine
Hakala-Ausperk, who will be joining NEO-RLS May 16th.  

 

Catherine has 27 years' experience in public libraries, 19 with Cuyahoga
County Public Library and the past 8 as the Deputy Director of the
Cleveland Heights - University Heights Public Library. A frequent
speaker at national and state conferences, staff days and workshops, she
is also an adjunct faculty member of Kent State University's School of
Library and Information Science. Catherine has been a contributor and
guest editor for ALA-APA's Library Worklife and her book, "Be a Great
Boss: One Year to Success" was published in January, 2011, by ALA
Editions. She is an Ohio Certified Public Librarian and an American
Library Association Certified Public Library Administrator (CPLA.)
Catherine holds a BA from Kent State in News-Editorial Journalism, as
well as an MLS. She is also a facilitator for the Public Library
Association's Turning the Page 2.0 library advocacy training program.
