[OPLINLIST] Project Compass online workshop available

Many public librarians have attended or will attend one of the in-person
"Project Compass: Libraries Lead the Workforce for the 21st Century"
being offered this spring around the state.  These workshops are made
possible by a partnership between the State Library of Ohio,
OCLC/WebJunction, and the State Library of North Carolina through a
grant from The Institute of Museum & Library Services (IMLS). Librarians
who were not able to send staff to an in-person training or who would
like additional staff to participate in this training will now have an
opportunity to do so.  

This June, Project Compass

online workshop, Libraries at the Core of Workforce Recovery, which will
cover how libraries can respond to the basic needs of patrons impacted
by the weak economy and specifically to the needs of job seekers. The
goal of the workshop will be to build knowledge and confidence to
deliver programs and services that will keep the workforce in your
community moving forward in the 21st century. The program will kick off
with a live webinar on June 1, and will be followed by three weeks of
reading assignments and discussions. For more details and to register
