Location:  Kent Free Library, Kent, OH 

 

Position:  Technical Services Manager, full-time (37.5 hrs/week)

 

Position Description:  The successful candidate will plan, organize,
coordinate, evaluate, and lead technical services for Kent Free Library.
Provides effective and efficient management of the tech services department
including: catalogs all library materials, delegates acquisition, cataloging
and processing of library materials, supervises full-time and part-time
staff including professional and paraprofessional employees, creates
policies and procedures, evaluates service for continual improvement in tech
services operations, establishes priorities for department activities, works
closely with adult and youth services departments in coordinating projects,
manages database, pursues and utilizes effective and developing technology
for improvement of technical services, prepares monthly statistical reports,
reports to the Director.  

 

Qualifications:  MLS/MLIS degree plus three to five years of post MLS
experience as a cataloger working in a public library. Supervisory or
management experience is preferred.  Knowledge of Innovative Interfaces
(Millennium) is preferred.  

 

Salary:  $38,500 starting and DOQ
