[OPLINLIST] Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) competitive grant update

Please excuse multiple postings...

 

Typically the State Library of Ohio releases two LSTA request for
proposals annually.  The full grant RFP is posted in January and the
minigrant RFP is posted in August.  Due to a variety of circumstances,
the State Library finds it necessary to temporarily suspend these
competitive grant programs.  The LSTA allotment received by the State
Library from IMLS has decreased over the last few years and funding for
federal fiscal year 2013 is still uncertain.  Both the LSTA Five-Year

<http://library.ohio.gov/StateLibrarian/aboutus/StrategicPlan>  outlined
new priorities for the agency.   Addressing these new initiatives while
sustaining current programs with unknown federal funding is extremely
challenging.  Staff believe the best approach is to suspend the
competitive grants until all uses of LSTA funds can be evaluated and
prioritized.  We will keep you updated when LSTA competitive grants will
resume, new timelines, and so on.
