[OPLINLIST] Ohio Library Snapshot Day 2012 kicks off next week

Here’s a quick reminder that Ohio Library Snapshot Day 2012 kicks off next week! The survey is now open. 


Between October 7 – 13, 2012 , all types of Ohio libraries are encouraged to pick one day to collect and share photographs, stories, and information to tell the story of libraries on a typical day. 

Still working on plans? Check out the toolkit with step-by-step instructions and tips to make it easy to participate. As the week goes by, you can check to see the photos that are uploaded to the Ohio Library Snapshot Day 2012 Flickr group . Please have your pictures uploaded to the Flickr group and your stories and comments shared through the online survey by October 19, 2012. 

The State Library of Ohio will use the pictures and stories collected during Snapshot Day to create a statewide snapshot of what happens on libraries each day in Ohio. Libraries are encouraged to use their pictures and stories for their own advocacy and promotion efforts. 

Snapshot Day: A Day in the Life of Ohio Libraries is a project of the State Library of Ohio, the Ohio Library Council, OPLIN, the Academic Library Association of Ohio, OhioLINK, the Ohio Educational Library Media Association, and INFOhio. Each year, Ohio libraries will participate in this advocacy effort by collecting photographs, stories, information, and comments to get a snapshot of a typical day in Ohio libraries. All types of libraries are encouraged to participate to showcase what libraries do for Ohio residents
