Responsibilities: 
Reporting to the Chair, Library Teaching and Learning (LTL), the Instruction Coordinator oversees the design, implementation, maintenance and assessment of UL’s library instruction program and services. Established instruction programs include departmental liaisons, Individual Research Appointments, LibGuides, and New Faculty and Graduate Student Orientation. Responsibilities unique to this position include providing leadership and vision for library instruction initiatives, sharing expertise in library instruction theory and practice, and maintaining teaching environments that support the needs of the instruction program. The Instruction Coordinator participates in the daily work of the department by providing course-related library instruction in assigned subject areas and staffing the Research & Information Desk. The Instruction Coordinator also documents the activities, effectiveness, and needs of the instruction program through statistical analysis, reports, presentations, and data analysis. 
Qualifications: 
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution. Minimum of 1-3 years of instruction responsibility in an academic library. Demonstrated leadership skills commensurate with coordinator responsibilities. Effective planning, organizational, and project management skills. Evidence of the ability to conduct and produce scholarly research and to participate in service commitments. Preferred Qualifications: Record of success in implementing innovative instruction services Experience with assessment of library instruction and student learning outcomes. Experience creating electronic and print learning objects and using emerging technologies.
