Introductory Information: 
The MidPointe Library System was established in 1913 as the Middletown Public Library. The system is now comprised of three locations in Middletown, Trenton, and West Chester. We serve a diverse population who value libraries as indicated by our circulation of over 2.2 million items last year. The person who fills this unique opening will have a "home location" at our West Chester Library and will travel to our other branches as needed. As a floater you'll have a variety of duties at each public desk helping with information, circulation, and youth services. 
Responsibilities: 
Go to assigned branch and department and provide excellent customer service • Answer information and basic reference questions using print and electronic resources • Give instruction on how to use the ILS, the Internet, and other library equipment • Check items in/out and use an automated materials handling system • Use a cash register and credit card machine to collect and clear overdue fines • Answer the telephone and provide readers advisory. 
Qualifications: 
A high school diploma or equivalent is required • 3-5 years prior progressive experience at a public library is highly preferred • Excellent customer service, problem solving, and communcation is required • Must be very familiar with literature for all ages • Advanced computer experience including basic troubleshooting and database knowledge is needed • Must be available 20 hours per week between the hours of 8:00-9:15 M-TH, 8:00-7:15 F, 8:00-5:15 Saturday and 12:00-5:15 Sunday. Hours will fluctuate • A valid drivers license and reliable transportation is required. 
Salary and Benefits: 
Starts at $10.50 per hour.
