Cross-posted from Library Youth Services list. Please excuse duplication.

Good afternoon,

The Ohio State Fair and Expo Center is again supporting Ohio libraries' summer reading programs by offering a $4 discount coupon to any library wishing to distribute it to your summer readers.

The coupon is good for $4 off gate admission for children/youth ages 5-14 (State Fair admission is free for children under age 5). For 5-12 year olds, this is ½ off the regular admission price of $8. For 13 and 14 year olds, this is 40% off the regular admission price of $10.

All Ohio public libraries are invited to distribute the coupon to your summer reading program participants, at your discretion. Download the coupon master here:
http://library.ohio.gov/sites/default/files/State_fair_2013.pdf (Adobe PDF file)
Please do not share this link or the electronic file with anyone outside the Ohio public library community.

This year, make your copies on standard YELLOW copier paper. State Fair employees will only accept yellow SRP coupons at the gate. Regular users will notice that the coupon format has changed. There are now only 4 coupons/page. I regret that this will cost libraries extra time and paper. With the volume of State Fair gate traffic, they have found it necessary to standardize the size of all admission vouchers.

Libraries distributing this incentive will be asked to report the number of coupons distributed. Plan to track your library's distribution for the 2013 Ohio SRP Evaluation, so the State Library can report back to the Ohio State Fair.

The State Fair will run from July 24 - August 4 this year. More info is at http://www.ohiostatefair.com/.

The State Fair coupon and all statewide SRP resources are available to all Ohio public libraries, regardless of whether you use the collaborative theme or your own theme. Browse the Ohio Summer Reading Program website at http://www.webjunction.org/partners/ohio/oh-programs/sumread.html. There you can check out a list of Ohio tourist caves, archaeological societies, and other "underground" institutions, download materials from 2013 children's, teen, and adult SRP workshops, and gather other resources and tips for your SRP.

Sincerely,
Janet
