[OPLINLIST] Book Title Request--woman cannot speak after stroke

A patron is looking for a book by a popular author that is about a woman 
in a nursing home due to a stroke that left her aware, but completely 
unable to speak or communicate. A relative comes to care for her. Not 
much to go on. It's not by Nora Roberts, the patron said, but is by 
someone of similar popularity. She read the book about 10 years ago she 
thinks. Any clues? Thanks in advance!
