I pass this along as an FYI. (OPLIN occasionally gets promotional emails like this from folks who think we control the content of a library's website.)

It looks to me like this resource is indeed non-commercial, though I haven't taken the time to explore it in depth. By passing this along, OPLIN is in no way endorsing this website. As I said, this is just FYI, do with it what you will.

Subject: FireScience.org: Fire and Public Service Career Resources

[...] I noticed you have career resources on your website and I thought this might be valuable to your visitors.

Our organization recently launched several guides for public service and safety careers including criminal justice, firefighting, homeland security, paramedic/EMT, and four others. Each guide features career and employment information, internship listings, scholarships, instructor information, and a degree search tool.

Why are these guides unique and valuable? Accurate and actionable information for these career fields can be difficult to find. We noticed a gap in the information provided by other sites and we set out to build a unique focused set of guides tailored to those exploring public service careers. Also, I thought I'd mention that all guides have a commercial-free experience and are no-cost.

You can find the listing of each guide at our career hub page here:

You can also navigate our full site from our homepage: http://www.firescience.org/
