Some libraries have access, some don't, and I've seen it come and go a couple times today.

I've touched based with Ancestry again letting them know that access is still spotty.

FYI we're still seeing spotty Ancestry access. 

A ticket has been opened with them on the issue.

Dear Ancestry Library Edition Subscriber,

As you may have seen in the message that was sent out yesterday, Ancestry.com was subjected to a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on Monday, June 16. They have been working around the clock since then and have made significant progress in addressing all of the affected services.

We are pleased to report that the majority of the Ancestry Library Edition functionality has been restored. The one known exception to this is the Discoveries feature that was introduced a few months ago, although Ancestry anticipates that it will be back online soon as well.

If you see any residual effects from this outage, you may need to clear the cache/cookies on your browser where appropriate. If you see any other lingering issues or discover something that is not working for you, email Ancestry’s Library Team at ALT at ancestry.com with the steps you’re taking to reproduce the problem. Thank you for your patience during this time.

Ancestry Library Edition's Distributed Denial of Service Attack Being Neutralized

Around 1:30 p.m. MT on Monday, June 16, 2014, attackers targeted Ancestry with a Distributed Denial of Service attack (DDoS). During the attack, Ancestry websites along with the Find A Grave website were clogged with massive amounts of bogus traffic that took the sites down.

We want to apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Ancestry is working very hard to restore all services as quickly as possible.

We will send out another service alert when access to Ancestry Library Edition has been fully restored.

This isn't really much of an update, but I wanted to pass it along so that nobody thinks Ancestry has been forgotten. As of 1:30pm Proquest says...

"Yes, Ancestry is down. The problem is being addressed, however there is no ETA at this time. Customers will be sent notification when it is back up and running. We apologize for the inconvenience."

This is a major outage affecting more than just the libraries, so there's no chance of it being overlooked.

Access to Ancestry is currently down.

We're opening a ticket with them, but it looks to me like they've accidentally deleted their "www" A record, so I'm sure they're already very aware of the situation.

No ETR yet.
