Givehistoric tours in a beautiful 19th century environment
 
(Columbus, April 1, 2015) --  The Kelton House Museum, a communityservice of the Junior League of Columbus, is seeking trainees to give tours ofthe Museum.
 
TheKelton House is a Victorian-era museum restored, maintained and managed by theJunior League of Columbus. Costumed docents give tours to adults and childrenthat focus on everyday life during the Victorian era, local history, theUnderground Railroad and the Kelton family. The home was essentially unalteredduring the 120 years when three generations of the Kelton family occupiedit.  There is a substantial collection oforiginal family furniture, garments, decorative accessories and family records.
 
Training date: Saturday,April 25, 2015
9:00 am – 1:00 pm
 
Trainingincludes an extensive docent manual, and tour scripts. You will shadow experienceddocents until you are ready to solo. Monthly docent chats (informal grouptrainings) provide a wonderful opportunity to continually discover and share.
 
Volunteer Requirements: (Tours availabledays, evenings and weekends).
 
·          Volunteersix times per year (Tours available days, evenings and weekends.)
·          Becomea Friend of the Kelton House.
·          Attendtwo Docent Chats annually

Audio Tour is available:
Saturday 1-4 pm

Monday-Friday 10 am - 4 pm
