If you have an innovative project or program idea for your library and require seed moneys for implementation, the LSTA open grant program may be of assistance.  The State Library's LSTA open grant program allows all types of libraries to pursue innovative and creative projects for their communities and customers.   This program will allow applicants to apply a new method to solve a problem, build a program or service and assist the library in carrying out their mission and plan while helping the State Library address LSTA goals.

There are no deadlines for open grant applications.  Applications will be reviewed upon submission and applicants will be notified of the funding decision within 45 business days of the submission date.  To be considered, proposals must be submitted electronically as a complete package to lsta at library.ohio.gov<mailto:lsta at library.ohio.gov>.
Proposals may request no more than $4,999 in federal funds.  A financial cash match of 25% of the total project cost is required from the institution.  In order to be funded applicants must provide a well-articulated narrative which supports LSTA Five-Year Plan goals and a clear and reasonable budget.  It is highly recommended that applicants contact LSTA staff or a Library Development Consultant about their project idea for feedback and guidance before proceeding with an application.
