[OPLINLIST] Julia Ward Promoted to Executive Secretary to the State Librarian

The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce that Julia Ward was recently promoted to Executive Secretary to the State Librarian. Julia will manage the office of the State Librarian and provide organizational support for special programs and projects.

Julia has been with the State Library for 15 years.  She began as a Library Assistant 2 in the Patron and Catalog Services department and was quickly promoted to LSTA Assistant, and then to LSTA Fiscal Coordinator in the Library Programs and Development department.  Her library experience dates back to her high school and college years working in the Norwalk Public Library, BGSU Firelands College Library, Ohio Wesleyan University Library, and the Delaware County District Public Library. "Julia's work ethic, her strong commitment to customer service, and her knowledge of State Library programs and services and the Ohio library community, made her the ideal candidate for this position," expressed State Librarian Beverly Cain.  "I am looking forward to working with her in her new role."

Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University Library. She plans to attend the Kent State University School of Library and Information Science to pursue a MLIS.
