Hi,

I had the opportunity to tour DC's public library when I attended 2014 Computers in Libraries. DC already had the MakerBot in place for a year and had a 2 week queue for public submitted print jobs. The staff let us know that MakerBot was the most reliable for customer service and support in comparison to the other brands they tried out. We purchased the Replicator 2 soon afterwards. After a bit of a learning curve, I have been very pleased with the reliability of the MakerBot.

I do not think dependable comes into it with any brand. IMO if uptime is a concern, aim for more than one printer in order to keep the service up and running while service is performed.

Has anybody had a really great experience with a specific brand of 3D printer for library programming? We have a flexible (but not enormous) budget, and are looking for something that is easy to use and dependable.

thanks!
