The Board of Trustees of the Athens County Public Libraries (headquartered
in Nelsonville, OH) seeks an innovative and forward-thinking individual who
is responsive to the county and can lead a team of creative and talented
staff. This vibrant library system serves 64,000 people in an area that
includes Hocking College and Ohio University. Its staff includes 33 FTEs,
10 PTEs and an estimated budget of 4.5 million for 2016. The library system
is comprised of seven libraries throughout the county.

Athens County is in the southeast region of the state, home to a growing
tourism industry related to the arts, local food, and outdoor recreation.
The county offers celebrated state parks and an active roster of
family-oriented activities throughout the year, including the Nelsonville
Music Festival and the Ohio PawPaw Festival. Athens County is only an hour
drive from Columbus, OH and Parkersburg, WV.

*Responsibilities:* Under the direction of the Library Board, the Director
is responsible for identifying, planning, organizing and executing
effective library services for the county. For a more detailed job

*Qualifications:* A Master of Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited
school, plus a minimum of five years of related experience OR equivalent
combination of education and experience. Proven and outstanding skills in
personnel management, budget administration, building partnerships,
writing, technology and public speaking. The successful candidate will also
have experience in renovation projects.
