Please excuse multiple postings...

The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for 2017 Summer Library Program grants<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/lsta-grants/#AvailableGrants>. This grant will provide funds to support public libraries incorporating the concept of building a better world into their 2017 SRP/SLP programs and activities.

The CSLP's (Collaborative Summer Reading Program) 2017 theme, "Build a Better World," lends itself to creative, collaborative library programs and activities on topics including construction, STEAM, invention, conservation, civic participation, recycling, global awareness, and much more. A wide range of activities for all age groups can qualify; feel welcome to be creative, seek out partners, and try something new - or expand on something you have already established.

Please note that use of CSLP themes and materials is NOT required in order for a library to be eligible for this LSTA grant.

Libraries may apply for up to $1500 in federal LSTA funds, and need to provide a 25% cash match of the total project cost (e.g. $500 if you request $1500 federal dollars; $200 if you request $600, etc.). The cash local match may be from the library budget, donations, fundraising, etc.

This grant does not require the project coordinator to have an MLS/MLIS degree.

Proposals are due by midnight, Friday, February 3, 2017.

Questions on the Ohio LSTA grant process should be addressed to Cindy Boyden, cboyden at library.ohio.gov<mailto:cboyden at library.ohio.gov> or 800-686-1532 or 614-644-6863.
