[OPLINLIST] Jen Johnson Promoted to Library Consultant – Project Manager for the Ohio Digital Network

The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce that Jen Johnson<mailto:jjohnson at library.ohio.gov> was recently promoted to Library Consultant within the Library Programs and Development Department. Jen’s primary responsibilities will focus on the newly approved DPLA Service Hub for Ohio.  She will act as Project Manager for the Ohio Digital Network.  In that capacity Jen will serve as liaison between the participating libraries and DPLA, work with the DPLA working groups and Community Engagement Centers on metadata, harvesting, and documentation, and provide training to Ohio libraries and cultural heritage organizations on digitization in general as well as DPLA specifically.  The Ohio Digital Network is a new statewide initiative, and Jen will have a key role in its development and implementation.

Jen joined the State Library staff in 2013 as a Librarian in Research & Catalog Services and was promoted to Electronic Resources Librarian in 2014. She was selected to participate in Library Leadership Ohio 2014 and spent the year working with a team focused on digitization. She was also selected to participate and completed ILEAD USA Ohio 2013, an immersive one-year continuing education program that develops library leaders through projects based on community needs using technology.

Prior to joining the State Library, Jen worked at the Ohioana Library and Worthington Libraries. She has a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Ohio State University.
