Presentations from Dr. Kim Carter, "Accepting Change in a Straitjacket" and Dr. Melissa Crum, "Exploring our Stories for Effective Change" are outlined below.

Accepting Change in a Straight Jacket:
Are you a speaker/trainer that has trouble accepting change on a dime, right before you go on stage? Do you feel restrained by the unknown facets surrounding your audience or environment? Is understanding drastic changes that occur during a speaking engagement a mystery to avoid? If so, let's talk about it. "Accepting Change in A Straitjacket," offers participants an opportunity to obtain tools to release the straitjacket holding them prisoner to unforeseen change.

Exploring or Stories for Effective Change:
Dr. Crum offers research-based everyday examples of how we can reshape our thinking to be creatively inclusive at work, home, and play. Participants share how to implement creativity, diversity, and change within their sphere of influence. Attendees will learn that self-reflection is a never-ending process and what to reflect upon; recognizing that choices made in e-course education are influenced by our knowledge and personal life experiences. The tools given will teach participants how to avoid limiting ideas of culture.

The SOTA mission is to provide professional development opportunities and resources to training professionals who coordinate, conduct, influence, and/or are involved with training, education and organizational development activities. Membership is free.
