Register today! <http://serls.evanced.info/signup/EventDetails.aspx?EventId=2063>  Take 5 is a day of dialogue and discovery for museum and arts educators, school librarians, public librarians and library workers specializing in teen services, after school and recreation leaders, and other youth advocates.

The fifth annual Take 5 event continues our exploration of creative approaches, new ideas, collaboration, and network-building to inspire you and help you recharge.  Last year, we invited you to "Make It Happen" by exploring ways to make your visions a reality through collaboration and creative use of resources. This year we challenge you to "Level Up! Level Out!"  and move beyond the basics of youth services. Bring your best game and make it better:


  *   Our featured speaker, Miguel Figueroa, director of the American Library Association's Center for the Future of Libraries<http://www.ala.org/transforminglibraries/future>, will highlight trends and discuss what they mean for our work with young people.
  *   Interactive brainstorming and reflection sessions, outdoor activities, and a unique lunch experience will encourage participants to think broadly about serving youth.
  *   A day-long memory-sharing adventure will level up your connection with your peers, your teens, and yourself.
  *   Guided conversation during the locally-sourced gourmet lunch will combine game-playing with addressing challenging issues in youth services.
  *   Hands-on activity stations, from food-tasting to mediation to bikes, will provide you a wealth of ideas to bring back to your workplace and community.

Bonus: Arrive early and enjoy Tuesday evening in Athens with other Take 5 attendees!  From a forest hike to a microbrewery, the evening promises conversation, exploration, and fun.  Attendees may also stay after and explore Athens on Wednesday afternoon.  Hotel options and other details will be sent to registrants in coming weeks.

Take 5 is sponsored by LSTA funds administered by the State Library of Ohio and by a generous contribution from the Athens County Public Libraries.
