[OPLINLIST] OhioNET 2016 Database Preview Announcement

Greetings,

The 2016 OhioNET Preview for Public Libraries will be available from Monday, February 29 through Friday, April 1.  In preparation for the Preview, I would like to introduce you to our new website at www.ohionet.org<http://www.ohionet.org/>.  We hope that as you explore the new site, you’ll notice many things have changed for the better, including how trials will be accessed.

Instead of a universal login for the trials, this year users will be asked to create their own login to access the “private" portions of our website.  You do not need to be an OhioNET member to view the trials or purchase discounted resources through OhioNET.  When users create a unique OhioNET login, they will now be able to update their information and access the annual database preview.  Additional benefits will be rolled out later throughout the year.  Those accounts can be created and accessed here:  http://www.ohionet.org/user/login.

Since these accounts will be approved manually to ensure we are appropriately providing access to these resources, we appreciate your patience as we authenticate them.  Signing up for an account before February 29 will ensure your immediate ability to access the Public Preview once it goes live, but we will authenticate users any time.  Please be sure to sign up with your library’s e-mail address instead of a personal one to ensure approved access to the trials.    Please also create unique individual accounts instead of group accounts for a department or organization.  To help members navigate the new website, I’ve created a brief how-to guide.  I’ll be sharing this as new users are authenticated, or, interested parties can contact us in advance of creating an account.

Renewals for existing subscribers will continue to appear in a separate portal at http://www2.ohionet.org/ref_renew2.php.
