Technology Coordinator



The Pickaway County District Public Library, serving a population of 55,000 and located 25 miles south of Columbus, Ohio is looking for a qualified individual to effectively manage the information technology department. This full-time (35 hours per week) position requires some travel and must be able to work a variety of hours. Position reports to Library Director. Minimum starting salary is $17.73 per hour. Actual starting salary dependent upon education, qualifications and experience. Excellent fringe benefit plan.



Job Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to, overseeing all aspects of the library's computer network (for Main Library in Circleville and branch library in Ashville), including managing the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all hardware and software for the system; manage electronic-based services and resources to provide effective use by public and staff; maintain security and integrity of the library's communication network, and confidentiality and access of files and databases throughout the system; evaluate, recommend and integrate new or upgraded technology to support services and staff; assist with maintenance of Central Library Consortium automation as needed; oversee ongoing development of web site; and to coordinate and participate in public instruction and staff training in the use of electronic resources and services.



Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or demonstrated equivalent experience required. MLS or equivalent degree from ALA accredited program preferred. Public library experience preferred.



Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Position requires current experience working directly with automated system, Windows, computer hardware, software applications, information databases, LANs, Microsoft Active Directory and Hyper-V; ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to bend and lift boxes, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and ability to push rolling carts weighing up to 150 lbs. Must be able to pass driving record check and background check.
