Stacy Schiff, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Vera and the #1 national bestseller Cleopatra: A Life, will discuss her latest book, The Witches: Salem, 1692. In her book, Schiff painstakingly reconstructs the facts behind the mass hysteria that sparked the Salem witch trials, events that have captivated the imaginations of Americans for centuries.

Schiff is the author of Véra (Mrs. Vladimir Nabokov), winner of the Pulitzer Prize; Saint-Exupéry, a Pulitzer Prize finalist; and A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America, winner of the George Washington Book Prize; and Cleopatra: A Life. The author has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library. She was also the recipient of an Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Copies of The Witches will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of the Learned Owl Book Shop. Register for this free program online at hudsonlibrary.org or call (330) 653-6658 x1010.
