*Live training with our Level-Up Labs*

We here at SWON are still coming down from our excitement at hosting a
great Staff Training Symposium. We had librarians and library staff from
over a dozen different institutions in the Northern Kentucky and
Southwestern Ohio areas attend this in-person, all day training event for
library staff of all types.

Everyone had a chance to learn about many emerging trends that may affect
our work: from income inequality to emerging adulthood, and from fanfiction
to the changing nature of privacy. We could not have done it at all without
the amazing Pat Wagner

our Staff Training Symposium committee and the excellent facilities
provided by the Campbell County Public Library System.

But, of course, most of you reading this weren’t able to make it out to our
event – we know how hard it can be to spare the time and money for these
all-day training affairs. That’s one of the reasons that SWON is pleased to
offer our hands-on Level-Up Labs

in Blue Ash. We offer training on a variety of topics that include
technical how-tos and HR best-practices. These afternoon events usually
occur twice a month and are free to all.

*OKI Children's Literature Conference*

OKI 2016 is less than a month away. This world-class conference is a local
event that always manages to be both informative and fun. This year,
featured authors include Janet Stevens and Susan Crummel, as well as local
authors Louise Borden, Mike Mullen and George Ella Lyon.

This full-day conference includes a variety of workshops useful to
teachers, writers, librarians, illustrators and parents, including review
sessions of recently published picture books, middle grade, and young adult
