Meet the 2016 Caldecott Award-winning author Lindsay Mattick at the Hudson Library. Her book Finding Winnie: the True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear tells the story of her great grandfather, a veterinarian in World War I, who rescued a bear while on his way to tend horses. The relationship that grew out of that meeting is one that has captured hearts ever since, and today "Winnie the Pooh" is known to readers around the world. Discover the remarkable true story of Harry and Winnie and hear about Mattick’s journey of turning her family’s heart-warming story into a published book that would become an award-winning title.

This program will be followed by a book signing.
