The College of Wooster is currently seeking a full-time Access Services Evening Supervisor.

Summary:

Provides public access to the College of Wooster Libraries' circulating print and media collections, print and electronic reserves, permanent and course-related media reserves, interlibrary loan materials through our statewide and consortial partners, equipment, keys, and a variety of patron support services.

Primary Responsibilities:



*         When classes are in session, Sunday through Thursday, 5 pm to closing at 2 am, this position provides supervision of the student employees' desk and off-desk responsibilities including, but not limited to, circulation of materials and equipment, answering general reference questions, creating new patron records for on and off-campus patrons, collection of patrons' library fines and copying and printing fees, rough sorting the returned on and off-campus print materials, shelving and inventory of the media collections, collection and processing of interlibrary loan materials, etc. This position works library hours (8 am through 5 pm) Monday through Friday when classes are not in session.



*         Responsible for the processing, communications, and copyright compliance of electronic and print reserves in the Sierra and LibGuides Electronic Reserves systems. Serves as the primary faculty and student contact and provides training for the student employees assisting with these services.



*         Responsible for the processing, shipping, and communications related to our statewide and consortial interlibrary loan services via OhioLINK and CONSORT for our users and for other institutions' users borrowing from our Libraries.



*         Responsible for the department's management of patron overdues, negotiations, fines, and billing processes through the Sierra system and the College's Business Office.



*         Evaluates and improves the efficiency of task-related workflows in consultation with the Head of Access Services including, but not limited to, revising student employee handbooks, instruction manuals, forms, documents, procedures, and policies. Develops best practices and reports for all related responsibilities, procedures, processes, budgeting, statistics, and plans for the future development of the Access Services department.



*         Assists with the safety and security of patrons and staff in Andrews/Gault and Timken Libraries Sunday through Thursday when classes are in session and Monday through Friday when they are not; offers suggestions and procedures for the same.


Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a college or university; and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
