[OPLINLIST] Position Opening at Akron-Summit County Public Library

The Akron-Summit County Public Library currently is seeking qualified candidates for its Downtown Services Manager. The person in this position manages Main Library, a 270,000 sq. ft. award-winning building located in downtown Akron, Ohio. Responsibilities include:


  *   Supervising the managers of Main Library divisions and departments; the Public Services Office Administrative Assistant; and full-time substitutes;
  *   Serving as the liaison with an active Friends of Main Library group;
  *   Supervising the development of Main Library programs and services;
  *   Developing plans for the day-to-day operations of Main Library; and
  *   Working collegially with fellow members of the Library's Administrative Team to achieve the Library's strategic goals and initiatives.

ASCPL is a highly valued community partner and collaborator, and Main Library offers unique services and resources such as TechZone at Main (makerspace); Microbusiness Center & Co-working Space; and Patent & Trademark Resource Center. Akron is undergoing an exciting transformation with new streetscapes and a $40+ million historic building restoration project that will become an entertainment and residential center in the heart of the city.
