MIT Media Lab’s Public Library Innovation Exchange (PLIX)<http://plix.media.mit.edu> team, in collaboration with the Akron-Summit County Public Library, would like to invite you to participate in the PLIX at Akron Workshop on October 29-30, 2019 in Akron, Ohio!

As more librarians are asked to lead educational programs with emerging technologies, we think it is important not just to get technology into the hands of patrons, but to cultivate an environment for patrons to experiment and create with technology. This workshop is designed to be a hands-on, highly interactive opportunity for librarians to delve into creative learning, MIT Media Lab research, and building their personal facilitation practice.

During this workshop, you will be able to:


  *   Take a deep dive into our PLIX kits<https://plix.media.mit.edu/kits> and activities<https://plix.media.mit.edu/activities>—we will cover everything you need to know to get started offering these programs in your library.
  *   Learn more about creative learning and hone your facilitation skills in our PLIX Facilitator Training session.
  *   Get to know one another: the PLIX team, the Akron team, and the ~50 other public librarians in attendance.
  *   Learn more about PLIX projects, current and future.
  *   Practice your new facilitation skills at a Halloween-themed Public Maker Night we are hosting at the library on Wednesday evening! 🎃
