It has come to our attention that some COBAA grant proposals were submitted unsuccessfully, due to technical difficulties.  Unless an applicant received confirmation directly from the LSTA Office via email, it should be assumed that the proposal was not received.

The COBAA grant deadline has been extended to Monday, January 27, 2020. Reminder: The online application form must be completed in ONE SITTING.  The online form must be completed in order for applicants to be eligible for the COBAA grant.  Applicants will receive a confirmation email from the LSTA Office upon successful submission. Since 2016, the State Library of Ohio has awarded LSTA funds to support Celebrating Ohio Book Awards & Authors (COBAA) to provide funds specifically for collection development purposes.  In its fourth year, the grant application process has been updated to a required online application. The grant award is a maximum of $1,500 per eligible institution.  COBAA grant proposals must be submitted via the State Library website by midnight, Monday, January 27, 2020.

The awarded federal funds may be used to purchase copies of the selected title(s). The 2020 COBAA Book List<https://library.ohio.gov/documents/2020-cobaa-book-list/>  is a listing of over 1,800 eligible titles including those nominated and awarded the Ohioana Book Awards<http://www.ohioana.org/programs/ohioana-book-awards/>, Buckeye Children's and Teen Book Award<http://www.bcbookaward.info/>, James Cook Book Award<http://olc.org/about-us/divisions/teen-services-division/james-cook-book-award/>, Dayton Literary Peace Prize<http://daytonliterarypeaceprize.org/>, The Anisfield-Wolf Award<http://www.anisfield-wolf.org/>, Thurber Prize for American Humor<http://www.thurberhouse.org/thurber-prize-for-american-humor>, and Norman A. Sugarman Children's Biography Award<https://cpl.org/subjectscollections/youth-services/kids/norman-a-sugarman-childrens-biography-award/> within the past 10 - 15 years. Also included are all Choose to Read Ohio<http://library.ohio.gov/ctro>  and Floyd's Pick<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/library-programs-development/ctro/floyds-pick/> selections to date.
