The Ohio State Parks certificate is back! The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Parks and Watercraft, is again providing a discount certificate for overnight stays at Ohio State Parks as an incentive to support Ohio's summer library programs. Any Ohio public library may distribute the certificate.

This year's certificate is for a specific discount of $10 rather than a percentage, and has been expanded to include camping, getaway rentals, lodges, and cabins at participating locations. The 2021 certificate is valid from May 1 through September 30.

This incentive is for the exclusive use of Ohio public libraries. Do not share the password, link, or electronic file with anyone but Ohio public library staff. Do not repost online except on a secure staff intranet. Please keep track of how many certificates you distribute.

The certificates print 2 per page. Please print or copy them on GREEN paper for distribution. State Parks employees will only accept certificates on green paper, with library name included on the certificate. You may add your library name to your master before copying for distribution. A few additional notes for this incentive:

  *   Please distribute only printed certificates; do not send the PDF to library patrons electronically.
  *   The certificates are for your SLP participants only; limit one per person.

ODNR is asking its guests to follow social distancing protocols, stay on the designated trails, watch for new or different signage and rules, and enjoy their visits.  When making reservations, they will want to plan in advance and be open to different types of overnight offerings and locations. Just a reminder that the Ohio Renaissance Festival is also supporting summer library programs with a coupon for 50% off gate admission for Summer Library Program participants of any age. Any Ohio public library may distribute the coupons.

Please note these guidelines for the coupon:

  *   The coupons print 2 per page. Print them on gold-colored (goldenrod) paper. If goldenrod is not available, select any shade of yellow or, in a pinch, any colored paper. Ren Fest ticket booth staff will accept coupons on any color paper but they will be looking for gold/goldrenrod.
  *   Please distribute only printed coupons; do not send the PDF to library patrons electronically.
  *   The coupons are for your SLP participants only; limit one coupon per person.

The Ohio State Fair announced last week that it would not be open to the public in 2021, so there will not be a State Parks coupon incentive this year. The 2021 State Fair will be limited to livestock and educational competitions. The deadline for competitors to enter is June 20. See https://ohiostatefair.com/ for more information.
