Here's an important update about the Ohio State Parks certificate for all your families who will have multiple people participating in your summer library program. The library certificate is ODNR's very first discount program under a new reservation system for its overnight stay options including campgrounds and state operated cabins. One thing we have learned is the discount code can be used just once per customer per facility. Our State Parks partners want to share this info with you to pass along to your SLP participants if asked:

The Ohio State Parks certificate may be given to any summer library program participant of any age, one per person. Members of the same family can each receive a certificate that they earn through your reading program. If you are asked about using the certificate for camping: when redeeming, one certificate will be accepted from a customer per transaction and location. However, families with multiple certificates can use their additional certificate(s) at any of the other 57 campgrounds located around the state. As an example, if a family receives three certificates, they can use all three by camping at three different parks.

The Ohio State Parks certificate is back! The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Parks and Watercraft, is again providing a discount certificate for overnight stays at Ohio State Parks as an incentive to support Ohio's summer library programs. Any Ohio public library may distribute the certificate.

This year's certificate is for a specific discount of $10 rather than a percentage, and has been expanded to include camping, getaway rentals, lodges, and cabins at participating locations. The 2021 certificate is valid from May 1 through September 30.

ODNR is asking its guests to follow social distancing protocols, stay on the designated trails, watch for new or different signage and rules, and enjoy their visits.  When making reservations, they will want to plan in advance and be open to different types of overnight offerings and locations. Just a reminder that the Ohio Renaissance Festival is also supporting summer library programs with a coupon for 50% off gate admission for Summer Library Program participants of any age. Any Ohio public library may distribute the coupons.

The Ohio State Fair announced last week that it would not be open to the public in 2021, so there will not be a State Parks coupon incentive this year.
