Good morning,

Is your library a summer or afterschool meal site, or are you interested in becoming one? For summer 2021, nearly every community in Ohio is eligible to participate in the USDA Summer Food Service Program, administered by the Ohio Department of Education. Similar flexibilities are anticipated for the At-Risk Afterschool meal program for the 2021-22 school year. If your library could not participate in the past because of limits on area eligibility, please give these programs a second look.

Misty Davis, Child Nutrition Assistant Director at the Ohio Department of Education, Office of Integrated Student Supports, will join Ohio librarians on Wednesday, April 28 for a Q&A about the Summer Food Service Program, afterschool meal program, current waivers that increase access to out-of-school-time meals during the pandemic, and anything else you want to know!
