[OPLINLIST] Attracting staff and staff pay

I'm pretty certain that those of us who are having problems attracting staff in the current job market and those of us who pay less than $15 to start have been thinking a great deal about how to get to the point of attracting staff and paying them a decent wage. (even more than in normal times, libraries are always working on how to pay more)

What is your library doing right now to attract applicants? Or are your local businesses and non-profits doing anything differently?

And what are you thinking long term about the situation?

TIA,
Patty, who is really wondering why she didn't take any economics classes during the undergrad degree
