[OPLINLIST] Reminder: Applications Are Being Accepted for the Second Round of Metadata Mini-Grants

This LSTA special grant enables libraries to digitize and create new collections for the Digital Public Library of America<https://dp.la/>. Applications are due by Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

Through work with Ohio Digital Network<https://ohiodigitalnetwork.org>, Ohio’s DPLA Hub, and support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services<https://www.imls.gov/>, libraries can apply for up to $4,999 to remediate metadata for collections that have already been digitized and create new digital collections. Changes to the grant program this year include eligibility for all Ohio libraries, archives, or other cultural heritage institutions including current contributors to Ohio Digital Network, and an updated contract period of October 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

DPLA brings digital collections from cultural heritage collections across the U.S. together in one place and makes them freely accessible to all. Libraries, archives, and museums in Ohio already contributes over 250,000 items<https://dp.la/search?partner=%22Ohio%20Digital%20Network%22> to this national project, and with this grant, your organization can be a part of the project, too!

The LSTA Department will review draft application proposals submitted by July 7.  Drafts may be submitted to LSTA at library.ohio.gov<mailto:LSTA at library.ohio.gov>; typically, feedback is provided within 3-5 business days.
