Her visit marks the third installment in the library system’s 2011 Author Series program. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Buckley is the debut novelist of 2010’s <i>The Things That Keep Us Here,</i> which has been hailed by the <i>Los Angeles Times </i>as “a knockout debut of the decade.” Its premise centers on a flu pandemic that forces a family on the brink of separation to band together in the face of crisis. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>In April, the Ohioana Library in Columbus announced that Buckley was a finalist for its Book Award in Fiction for <i>The Things That Keep Us Here.</i> The novel was also recently chosen as a Breakout Book at Target stores nationwide. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Buckley chairs the International Thriller Writers Debut Program and lives in Ohio with her husband, children, and two dogs. Bantam Dell will publish her next book, <i>Invisible</i>, in 2012.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The author will sign copies of <i>The Things That Keep Us Here</i>, which will be available for purchase ($15), after the program concludes. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Multiple copies of Buckley’s debut<i> </i>are on display and available for checkout at the library’s New Philadelphia location.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Admission to the event is free.
