The kids gathered on a Friday afternoon. We read a couple stories and made a big deal of the animals having the chance to “camp” at the library for the weekend. We took pictures of all the kids and their animals and we let the kids sit in the tent we set up and they roasted marshmallows over our faux campfire. Anyone who wanted to leave an animal could so. We took pictures of the activities the animals did over the weekend. We gave each child a printed sheet of pictures when they picked up their animals at our next program on the following Monday. It was very popular and FREE! The parents had a lot of positive comments and the adults and kids all loved the picture print out.

If you would like to see some pictures, check out our Facebook page—just do a search for New Madison Public Library.

Ann at New Madison

From: oplinlist-bounces@lists.oplin.org [mailto:oplinlist-bounces@lists.oplin.org] On Behalf Of Alan Hall
Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2011 1:55 PM
To: oplinlist@lists.oplin.org
Subject: [OPLINLIST] Teddy Bear Sleep-over at the Library

If you are looking for a great children’s program that doesn’t take a lot of work, and provides wonderful PR for the library, try a Teddy Bear Sleep-over at the Library.
