Author Kambri Crews to Speak at Dover Public Library

The Dover Public Library will be hosting a special event
featuring renowned speaker and author Kambri Crews on
Thursday, July 12 at 7:00 PM. Crews will be discussing her
gritty and touching memoir, “Burn Down the Ground.” A book
signing will follow this event. “Burn Down the
Ground” is an unflinching look at Crews’ childhood with two
deaf parents. A magnificent story-teller, Crews describes the
difficulties of always being on the fringes of the tight-knit
deaf community without ever being welcomed into it; the
troubled relationship between her parents; and her efforts to
understand and maintain her relationship with him during his
incarceration for nearly killing his girlfriend.
now a renowned storyteller, speaker, and publicist in New York
City, where she owns her own public relations and production
firm. She has performed at a variety of venues in and out of
the city, and has spoken at a number of schools and colleges,
including SXSW and DeafHope. She currently resides in New York
City with her husband, comedian Christian Finnegan. For
